Aesthetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that includes all applications performed in the mouth to obtain a better smile.

SMILE DESIGN

Aesthetics has an important place in dentistry, as in many areas of our lives. Because the teeth are in direct view. In order for the person to smile freely, the harmony of the teeth and lips with the gingival elements is important.

With the ever-developing technology in aesthetic dentistry,  functional features have also increased. In this way, a personalised, ideal smile is created with the design we call Smile Design.

WHITE FILLER (COMPOSITE)

Since oral and dental health is not given much importance, many people have cavities in their mouths. Due to improper brushing or not brushing my teeth at all, bacteria created by food residues settle on the tooth surfaces over time and cause decay. The important thing is to take precautions before these bruises get too deep. This can only be achieved by checking with the dentist every 6 months.

If the teeth have started to decay, it is necessary to clean the tooth from decay and fill it before completely losing the tooth. The types of fillings applied are Metal fillings, Composite fillings and Ceramic fillings.

Metal fillings are a very strong type of filling that can be used for many years. However, with today’s technology, the more aesthetic white filling or ceramic filling is preferred. It is a type of filling that can be used at least as strong and easily as a metal filling, even in front or back molars. The composite filling adapts very well to the tooth and is indistinguishable from your natural tooth because it is tooth-colored. Even if there is no decay in the teeth, composite fillings are used to correct minor aesthetic defects in the front teeth. Ceramic fillings are an alternative aesthetic application used in cases where the tooth decay rate is too high and cannot be saved with a filling. Likewise, after the decay is cleaned, the tooth is measured and a porcelain filling is prepared with a CAD CAM system in the laboratory and placed in the patient’s mouth in the second session.

PORCELAIN LAMINATED

Laminate veneers  are porcelain leaflets prepared with a thickness of 0.3 millimeters, applied for aesthetic purposes. These porcelain laminates can be adjusted to the desired color and size. In porcelain laminate application, the surface of the tooth is abraded very finely, and in some cases, it is applied without the need for any abrasion. With this treatment, small amounts of crooked teeth, drug discolorations on the tooth surface, and yellowed teeth are made permanently white.

The only disadvantage of laminate veneer  is that it is not suitable for every mouth structure and closing style. If the person has a habit of grinding his teeth, laminates may break. To prevent this, after the end of the treatment, a night plate is made for our patient to use at night to prevent fractures due to teeth grinding.

ZIRCONIUM COATING

Zirconium dental treatment in  aesthetic dentistry  gives satisfactory results.  Zirconium is an  aesthetic dental  coating material that is metal-free, compatible with the gums and has high light transmittance . After the teeth are cut, their measurements are taken and their three-dimensional infrastructure is taken by scanning them in a computer environment. After the infrastructure is rehearsed, the porcelains prepared in the laboratory become suitable for insertion into the patient’s mouth.

Since zirconium coating has an aesthetic structure, it is difficult to distinguish it from your natural teeth. Another advantage is that it is compatible with gums and is anti-allergic. It is lighter than metal-supported porcelain and does not cause bad breath.

EMPRESS DENTAL COATING

Empress veneers  are a personalized application prepared in a computer environment using very sensitive devices without human contact.  Empress dental veneer  creates very little material loss from the tooth surface. Reinforced and compressed porcelain is used instead of zirconium or metal-supported porcelain. Since it is made with reinforced glass called Empress, its light transmittance is excellent. In metal-supported crowns, the color of the metal appears as a darkening on the gums. However, this is not possible in aesthetic works such as empress. It is compatible with gums and anti-allergic.

GUM AESTHETICS

Teeth have an important position in our facial area during speech and communication. The appearance, arrangement and structure of the teeth give us some clues about ourselves, even if we do not want to. We call pink aesthetics when our gums and teeth are in harmony when we smile   .

When the lips lift up too much while smiling, the gums are visible (gummy smile), making our smile aesthetically incompatible. The first thing to check is whether the gums are healthy. If the person has unhealthy gums, this is first treated and then the gums are adapted. With a small laser procedure, the gums are leveled and an ideal smile is achieved.

Some gums lose their rose-pink color and become black, which is frequently seen in heavy smokers with dark skin. It is possible to treat it and the color can be lightened with laser. If you don’t smoke, the rose pink color will continue.
